How to reach: this place is 36 kms from laksheshwar. though there is no Jain temple at present, this place has historical  importance for jain religion as the famous Adipuran by Shri gunbhadraacharaya, a disiple of Acharaya jinsena, was composed here. this place derives its name bankapur after the name of jain king Bankerayas. the jain temples were converted into masjid etc. by the invaders. Bankapur is on the way to sirsi via hanegal- santekop and  aatur.
