ADMISSION
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
I.
Minimum qualification for seeking admission to 1st year B.E. leading
to 4 years degree course in Engineering (8 Semesters) and to 5 year
degree course in Architecure(10 Semesters)in PUC-II of Karnataka Board
or any other equivalent examination recognized by the Vishveswariah
Technological University, with minimum aggregate marks of 50% in
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The relaxation of 10% marks is given
to those who belong to SC, ST and A group Categories.
II.
The students who have passed qualifying examination from other
Boards/ Universities are required to obtain Eligibility Certificate from
the college before being admitted to the course.
III.
The students having passed Diploma in respective faculties viz; Civil,
Mechanical etc; may also seek admission to Engineering courses subject
to the condition that he / she must have obtained minimum 50% of marks
in final year Diploma examination conducted by the recognised Boards.
Apart from obtaining eligibility certificate from the college the
students who passed from other states have to get eligibility from
Director of technical Education, Bangalore.
ABOUT
THE COLLEGE:
Gogte Institute of
Technology was started during the year 1979 to meet the growing demand
of technically trained manpower for industrial growth in the country.
The college was sanctioned by the Government of Karnataka and is
affiliated to Visveswariah Technological University, Belgaum. The
College is also recognized by all India Council for Technical Education,
New Delhi.The College is running seven courses viz; Civil,
Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics &
Communication, Industrial and Production, Computer Science &
Engineering and Bachelor of Architecture(5yrs.) - 10 Semesters
courses leading to Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with an intake
capacity of 455 students per year. All the courses are approved by
Institute of Engineering (India). All the courses are of 4 year duration
comprising of 8 Semesters. So far nearly 5000 students have completed
their degree from this Institution and are working in high position in
India and abroad. The college is also rendering Post Graduate courses in
Structural Engineering (Civil) and Production Management (Mechanical)
with an intake capacity of 18 students each . It is proposed to start
with Post Graduate course in Electronic, Electrical and Mechanical
Engineering also.
The College is well equipped with laboratories in all the departments
and every year more equipments are added to the various laboratories.
The college has 3 buses which are being used by the students for coming
to College from the various locations in Belgaum City. The College has a
Training and Placement Cell headed by a Sr. Professor. The cell arranges
for campus interviews from various leading industries and every year
large number of students get employment through these campus interviews.
